At this point, it is important to note that the menu had gluten free options clearly written down. I ordered a sirloin steak with creamy garlic sauce and chips, stating that it had to be gluten free. Chris ordered his favourite cut of steak (I believe Eye Fillet). There was a fair bit of time waiting for the mains to come out, but I guess that is to be expected on a Saturday night. My meal was presented well and the garlic sauce was exactly how I like it, with the garlic still being identifiable over the creaminess. I then tried the chips, they were super crunchy and quite tasty but after about 1 minute I could tell something was wrong. At the same time Chris tried his chips and told me to stop eating, saying that he believed the chips were beer battered (clearly not gluten free). He called over the waitress and told her that I ordered a gluten free meal and could she confirm that every part of it was safe for me to eat. She went to the chef and came back and said "no the chips aren't". I was pretty angry considering the menu is supposed to be gluten free friendly and I was hurting a HUGE amount, just from eating a couple of chips. Chris then realised they had given him a sirloin steak instead of what he ordered, but kept eating it because he was hungry/couldn't be bothered complaining again. I then got a replacement steak which was totally different to what I originally ordered and they didn't ask whether I wanted this combination. It was basically another sirloin steak with a mushroom gravy sauce, and a unappetizing mound of salad. Great. I was still feeling sick and the mushroom sauce was terrible, not tasty at all. After trying to stop myself from being sick, we decided to leave. They gave us our drinks free, but I still think the way they went about fixing the order was atrocious. I don't think I will go there to eat again. Maybe for cheap beverages though.
